Florence devotes her practice exclusively to the matrimonial and family discipline. She advises on all branches of the area including divorce and separation, nuptial agreements, contentious and non-contentious financial and child-related issues, and has experience in dealing with cases involving cross border or international element and worldwide family assets. Florence’s client base consists of high net worth individual, entrepreneurs, financiers and city professionals.

Florence is also keen to resolve disputes outside the Courtroom and regularly assist clients through mediation process (private or within court process), including negotiating and finalising mediated agreements.

LitigationFamily Cases

  • A v B [2021] HKCFI 77 – acted for the Wife in her successful application to transfer the setting aside of the Financial Consent Order in the High Court proceedings to the Family Court. This is the first case using Practice Direction SL10.3 since the guidance came into effect on 11 February 2019.
  • JQ v CLH [2021] HKFC 105 and [2021] HKFC 133 – the Court has found the Husband to have substantial connection with Hong Kong based on his economic and social ties despite Husband ceased to be domiciled in Hong Kong and the marital life was never conducted here. Acted for the Husband in his appeal against the Court’s decision. 
  • Acted in various urgent applications concerning children’s arrangements, including applications for overseas travels in High Court proceedings, temporary relocation and resumption of access. 
  • Florence regularly assists her clients in seeking specific financial discovery and also maintenance pending suit against the other spouse.
