Janice is a consultant at RKS.
Janice has over 10 years of experience advising in all areas in matrimonial and family related matters including divorce and separation, nuptial agreements, relocation, wardship, adoption, childcare and custody and financial disputes, often with an international element. Janice has a particular interest in dealing with cases involving complex financial issues such as those involving trust and corporate structures, and third-party interests issues. Janice has participated in various cases advising high net worth clients with substantial assets. She also has experience in dealing with contentious estate and probate matters.
She was trained in an international law firm where she received training in family, wealth planning and was also seconded to the commercial team in London for six months. Upon her qualification in 2016, Janice has devoted her practice in family law as she is committed to provide delicate assistance to others and resolve their problems during one of the most challenging periods in their lives. She strives to achieve a positive and favourable outcome for clients with her empathetic and pragmatic approach.
Janice is also keen to help clients resolve their disputes outside the courtroom and she has participated in a number of mediator-facilitated Financial Dispute Resolution Hearing and has helped parties reach a settlement.
Janice is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She is a member of the Hong Kong Family Law Association, a regular contributor for the Hong Kong Family Law Reports, and a member of the CPD committee in the Law Society of Hong Kong.
In 2024, she was recognised by Doyle’s Guide Hong Kong as a Rising Star in Family Law.

Family Cases
- JEK v LCYP (Hague Convention; habitual residence) CACV125/2015 and LCYP v JEK (Jurisdiction for divorce: domicile and substantial connection) CACV98/2015 – Assisted in a groundbreaking case involving the removal of children from New York to Hong Kong.
- W, Y v L, KP, FCMC 4636/2015, 5 July 2016 – participated in 4 day trial acting for the mother in her successful application for permanent relocation with child to Shanghai, PRC
- CWCC v YKOP (Maintenance Pending Suit and third parties) [2018] HKFLR 320 – an application for Maintenance Pending Suit which involved third party financial assistance.
- Y, JYW v YSC (joinder and third party discovery) [2019] HKFC 322 – acted for wife in successfully defending husband’s intended applications to join wife’s father as a third party to the ancillary relief proceedings and to seek third party discovery against wife’s father.
- WYSL v FHCBA and Ors [2019] HKEC 2379 – a case involving a discretionary trust set up by the patriarch and about the wife’s needs which went to the Court of Appeal and assisted the wife to successfully secure a higher lump sum award.
- MPY v. WYC (Discovery) [2024] HKFC 158 – Acted for a wife in her successful application seeking financial discovery with costs against an uncooperative husband in a big money case
- MPY v. WYC [2024] HKCA 1132 acted for wife and successfully opposed husband’s application to the Court of Appeal for leave to appeal and transfer the case to High Court
Trusts and Probate
- Lee Goo Lynette Siu Yin v. Cheung Wai Ming Daisy [2019] HKCFI 1086: acted for the beneficiaries for their successful application for removal of personal representative of HK$500+ million estate.
